The contest, which will run over a period of 8 weeks, targets aspiring songwriters. In association with Immergent Records and WebCeleb, Mikal Blue is offering a chance for new talent to submit their songs and stand a chance of winning the grand prize – an opportunity to have their song produced at his studio in Southern California.
Over an 8 week period, young talented songwriters are encouraged to submit their offerings online to the Webceleb website. Votes from visitors to the site will determine the weekly winner and that song will then move on to the finals, joining the 7 other weekly winners. Mikal Blue and representatives of Emmergent Records will then choose the overall winner from the 8 finalists.
Once chosen, the winning songwriter will be flown to Mikal’s studio to have their song produced. Emmergent Records will then review the song and have first option of signing the winner.
Mikal Blue
Mikal Blue developed his niche for music after first hearing The Beatles as a child. He further enhanced and developed his love for things musical during an eleven year stint at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, as well as playing in a band at various North London clubs.
After some extensive European travel Blue settled in the United States, building his own studio in Southern California and establishing Revolver Recordings. He was soon writing music for films, including Adrian Lyne's Lolita and the Punk Rock documetary Songs for Cassavetes. After doing pre-production for The Offspring, he cemented his place in the Music Industry by producing well known artists such as Five For Fighting, One Republic, Augustana, Limousine, Drowning Pool, Gary Jules, The Daylights and Colbie Caillat. He has also released his own album, entitled Gold, and continues striving to unearth young, fresh talent.

Code Blue
Code Blue is already underway and aspiring songwriters are encouraged to submit their entries promptly to stand a chance of moving through to the finals. Entrants are at liberty to convince family and friends to visit WebCeleb and vote for their entries to improve their chances of ultimate success.
